Yes One Person CAN Make a Difference
By: Bob Kleppin Date: Dec 15, 2007 - 12:07 PM

You know the sayings, "Vote, your voice makes a difference", "Vote early, and vote often", (I just threw that one in to see if you were paying attention), "One small candle can light the world", etc. We say them, but we don't often believe what we say. Why not? Because most of us lack the confidence that we can do something, by our self, that will really change the world.

The ability to overcome that confidence "downer" is what separates the successful On-Line Marketer from the “Wanna-be’s.” Those of us that go into this business, and I mean REALLY go into this business, have come to grips with this problem and know that we can make a difference. (Or at least we think we can, or hope we can, or something similar.) To just go into this business to just make money and not relationships and strive just to make a person part with his/her hard earned income is not only wrong, it is against the workings of Universal Powers. We have to give to get. And when we give more than we initially get in return we find that we can make a difference in the fabric of Universal Energy. And we find that one person can bring about change with something as simple as a letter.

What the heck am I leading up to here? Well, I want to let you know about an experience that I recently had that is a testament to the power of one person being able to make a difference.

I live in a small town on the coast at the very edge of the California border with Oregon. We like to call this Northern California while the rest of the state prefers to call San Francisco and the Bay area Northern California, but that’s for a different posting about “What’s in a Name.” Anyway, this town is depressed and behind the Redwood curtain. One road in and one road out. With a lot of old buildings built after the Tsunami of 1964 which are pretty run down. No industry, it used to be fishing and logging and lumber. We do have a prison and we still have the Redwoods, the best Salmon fishing in the Northwest on the Klamath and the second cleanest river in the US, the Smith River and as a result, some tourist traffic. But we are economically depressed, (a perfect venue for a Portable Empire and a Portable Empire builder.)

There is a group of people in town that started painting murals on some of the walls around town, the “Redwoods Mural Society.” They have 4 or 5 up which are quite attractive. A couple of weeks ago a local resident wrote in to the local paper, The Daily Triplicate, in a letter to the editor to complain about all the time, money and energy that was being wasted on these murals. They claimed to have a Dr. in Landscaping, whatever that is.

I replied to this letter. I am just one small person of little political, financial, or social status in the local fish bowl. Yet, my letter did have an impact. The society announced in today’s paper that they are going to start in June of next year a “Mural in a Day” event here in our little community. Something that will help our towns financial strength, bring the residents pride in where they live and make the area more appealing to tourists.

So you see, one person can make a difference in the way a whole town reacts just by what they write. So keep writing, you never know what you might send out that will resonate with someone and will make a difference in not only their life, but yours as well. And if you happen to make some money along the way, so much the better.

There are a lot of people out in the Internet World that are working on making their first, (or maybe even their second, third, etc.), million dollars. And there are a lot of sites, blogs, forums, etc. set up to help them achieve that goal. Also a lot more that are trying to make them part with most, if not all, of that loot they have just acquired. That being said, mine will NOT be one of "those places." What I want to try and do is to address how to handle your big income changes so that you can keep as much of it as possible for yourself.

I am a businessman with over 35 years experience with companies from the Fortune 500 down to the small Mom and Pop operations. The budgets and income streams that I have managed and been responsible for have ranged from $100/mo for a personal business up to $6,000,000.00/mo in production and sales for larger corporations. I am not an expert at everything, nor am I a CPA, but I do know a little about a lot. And I hope that the members of this group can share what they know and stimulate me/us to learn and achieve more. I will always be available to help answer questions to the best of my ability. I hope all y'all, (yes I lived in Austin, TX), can help me get my business going.

Tell me what you need, what problems you are having and share your concerns, and tell me your success stories. I'll try to provide, or make available, iinformation that will keep you going and help you make another million or two.
I am NOT a sales or marketing expert and am learning about internet marketing from here and from where my wife tells me to go, (or at least where she tells me to go that doesn't involve purgatory.) My area of expertise/niche is two fold. My two areas passion are making useful and attractive wooden items for the kitchen and home while teaching others how to do the same AND keeping as many of the hard earned dollars as I can. I would like to be able to put on some seminars about both. Had some seminar "putting on" experience way back when computers were only 286's and the internet still depended upon Jughead, Archie and Veronica to find data sources ..................Does that date me?

Another Day, Another $0.25 (Inflation don't you know)
By: Bob Kleppin Date: Nov 16, 2007 - 11:47 AM
Well I had a good day yesterday. Went down to the little town of
Eureka to pick up my daughter's boyfriend's father. His transportation
was late getting in so we walked around the square in town and looked
in some of the little speciality shops. Found a place that would take
my cutting boards on consignment and sell them for the price I wanted.
Said they would take six of them when I had them made. Talk about an
incentive to get the shop back in order and put Kimberley to work.

Also found, for a special project, a sheet of Bamboo. Real good price
and it will allow me to make the little rectangles that my customer
want for her jewelry at a profit for me and at a price she wants to
pay. Talk about a win-win situation.

Also was a good day because of the strides my wife, Janelle, has made
in her getting our on-line presence up and running. I am so proud of
her, just wish that I was half as smart as she is.

Well, if anything I write strikes your fancy, send me a note and let's
strike up a thread.

Today is another day
By: Bob Kleppin Date: Nov 15, 2007 - 10:26 AM

Well all, I got up this morning and ran outside to get the newspaper. Opened it up to the Obit's and couldn't find my name anywhere. So I guess that today is going to be just great. This is at least one of those things that one trys to avoid having their name mentioned in the papers.

I'm back in town with my family and my wife will be back with me this Saturday after going to a wonderful unseminar in Austin, TX and then taking a week off to just be by herself without the stress and pressures of home.

As I said, I'm back. Back for a 6 month experiment that was a total flop. I tried to go to work for a company. That's just not my cup of tea. I can't be away from my family for that long a time and I don't like working for "Da' Man". Now I home and gonna just work for myself and my family. And enjoy the prosperity and joy that will flow my way.

Hello
By: Bob Kleppin Date: Nov 13, 2007 - 10:12 AM

Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog, such as it is. I'm really kind of new at this sort of thing so understand if I don't quite get it right at first. Of course, if you go to my profile you can read a little bit about me and kinda get a feel for who I am and what I'm into. I wanted to start my blog as a place where I can jot down what's happening to me and share my life problems. I hope that if you have life problems you'd share them here too and maybe we can figure out how to help.

Anyway that's what I had in mind.

I hope to be able to write up some of my adventures and see what I can do to make them available to everyone.

Some of the wood products that I make and sell are cutting boards, knife blocks, and misc. kitchen items. I'll share some pictures shortly and can gon into detail about how to make these items.

I also will pass on my experience re BBQ and other cooking styles.

Well that's enough for now, I'll write more later. Go ahead and leave me a message and let's get this Blog rolling......................
